[A]venue is a new independent music and arts venue located in the heart of the Arts District in Portland Maine. The [A]venue mission is to present a wide variety of quality local, regional, and national acts. By giving our patrons up-close access to emerging acts as well as established ones at affordable prices, we hope to broaden the horizons of music fans in southern Maine. As much as possible, we are keeping it real.

Why are you called [A]venue?
[A]venue is, quite simply, a venue. The name leaves our options open to providing a varied space suitable for many different types of music, art, and performance. While our focus is on bringing good music to the people of Portland, we at [A]venue are enamored of all kinds of events.

What is your policy on photo, video, and audio recording?
We generally leave those decisions to the bands involved. Typically, amateur photography is allowed and encouraged. If you are a press photographer we do ask that you request a press pass prior to the show.

Does [A]venue have age restrictions?
The majority of our music events are 18+ (unless otherwise noted). Minors may be admitted with permission from a parent or guardian. Alcohol is available for sale to patrons with valid ID, though we reserve the right to stop serving to anyone at any time.

How do I suggest a band to play at [A]venue?
If you know of a band that would like to play at [A]venue, have their agent contact us at booking@avenueavenue.com. If you would like us to bring your favorite band to Portland, feel free to suggest them to us using our general information line, info@avenueavenue.com.

Can I book [A]venue for my event?
[A]venue is occasionally available for private events. Please take a look at our calendar and contact booking@avenueavenue.com for more information.
